this book while on a two-week canoe trip down the Rio Grande in tenth
grade. My copy came home swollen from numerous dunkings in the water,
so I had to buy a new one. I re-read it every few years, and it is bar-none
my favorite book of all time. A fantastic historical novel, Japanese
politics, a mesmerizing love-story--what more could you want?
