Lolita
by Vladimir Nabokov
 OK,
yes, this is a book about a man obsessed with a minor whom he abducts
and sleeps with. But Nabokov's prose is so beautiful, so multi-layered
that it's impossible not to be swept up in the story. And at no point
does Nabokov pretend that he is trying to apologize or excuse his hero's
behavior--he's simply showing you the crazy ride of being in the obsessive
man's mind.
