A Room with a View
by E.M. Forster
In contrast to the previous book--Possession--the Eight is the kind
of book that gets sold in paperback in airports, and could be read in
cross-country flight. It's similar, however, in its entwined time lines:
a woman in modern times tries to collect the chess pieces that hold
the clues to eternal life through alchemy, mirroring a similar quest
that occurs during the French Revolution. Good adventure; good history.
